1. Who we are

DIY Sounds is a free browser tool for designing loudspeaker enclosures, at diysounds.com. This policy explains what happens to information when you use it. It covers the landing page, the calculator at /app/, and the community where designs are published.

In this policy, "we" and "us" mean the operator of DIY Sounds, contactable at glennmichaelmejias@gmail.com.

2. The calculator collects nothing

This is the part worth being clear about, because it is unusual. The calculator runs entirely in your browser. Driver parameters, enclosure choices, cabinet dimensions, the 3D model you draw and every project you save are written to your browser's own local storage on your own device.

They are never transmitted to us. We cannot see your projects, we do not have a copy, and we cannot recover them for you if you clear your browser data or switch devices. Nothing in the calculator requires an account, and it works with the community switched off entirely.

Exporting a CSV or a summary image writes a file directly from your browser to your device. Those exports do not pass through us either.

3. What we collect when you sign in

Signing in is entirely optional and only needed to publish, comment or like. We use Google Sign-In, so we never see or handle your Google password.

When you sign in, Google gives us a signed token containing:

A Google account identifier (a stable ID Google calls sub)	To recognise you when you come back. We key your account on this rather than your email, because an email address can be reassigned and this cannot.
Your email address	To identify your account and contact you about it if we ever need to. It is never shown publicly.
Your display name	Shown publicly beside anything you publish or post.
Your profile picture URL	Shown publicly beside anything you publish or post. The image itself is loaded from Google's servers, not copied to ours.

We request only the basic openid, email and profile scopes. We do not request, receive or have any access to your Gmail, Drive, Contacts, Calendar or any other Google service.

Your name and picture are refreshed from Google each time you sign in, so changing them on your Google account changes them here too.

4. What we store when you publish or post

If you choose to publish a design, we store:

• The name and description you give it.
• The design itself — the full set of parameters, dimensions and any 3D model you drew.
• The summary image generated from your design.
• The specifications shown on its card, such as driver size, enclosure type, volume and tuning.
• Whether you allowed other people to copy it.
• When it was published and last changed.

If you comment or like, we store the text of your comment, which design it is on, and when — or, for a like, simply that you liked that design.

The copy setting

When you publish, you choose whether other people may copy the design into their own projects. If you turn that off, we do not send the design data to anyone but you — other people see your picture, your numbers and the comments, but the design itself is withheld by our server rather than merely hidden by the page.

You can change this setting at any time on your own design. Note that turning it off does not reach copies people already made while it was on.

5. Cookies

We use as few as we can:

We use no advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking cookies. If you never sign in, no session cookie is ever set.

Your projects are kept in your browser's local storage, which is not a cookie and is never sent to any server. Clearing your browser's site data for diysounds.com deletes those projects permanently.

6. Analytics

We use Clicky to count visits and see which pages people use. It records things like page addresses, referring sites, approximate location derived from IP address, browser and device type. We use it to understand what to work on, not to identify individuals.

Clicky is a third party and processes this data under its own privacy policy. Browser "Do Not Track" signals and most content blockers prevent it loading at all, and the site works normally without it.

7. What we never do

• We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
• We do not run advertising or share data with ad networks.
• We do not build advertising profiles or use your data to train machine-learning models.
• We do not email you marketing. The only email you would ever get from us concerns your account or something you posted.

8. Who else sees your data

We share information only where it is unavoidable:

• Google — handles sign-in. Google knows you signed in to this site; we never send them anything else about you.
• Our hosting provider — runs the servers holding the database and the images. They can access it as a technical necessity of hosting.
• Clicky — as described above.
• If the law requires it — a valid legal order, or to protect someone's safety or our rights.

9. Where your data is kept, and for how long

Data is stored on servers we operate, and may be processed in countries other than yours. We keep your account and what you have published until you delete it or ask us to. Server logs, which may include IP addresses, are kept for a short period for security and debugging, and then discarded.

Deleting a design removes it, its comments and its likes. Backups may retain a copy for a short period before they are rotated out.

10. Your rights and how to use them

Regardless of where you live, you can:

• See what we hold — email us and we will tell you.
• Correct it — your name and picture come from Google, so change them there and sign in again. Anything else, ask us.
• Delete individual things — you can unpublish any design of yours and delete any comment you wrote, from the site itself, without asking anyone.
• Delete everything — email us and we will delete your account together with every design, comment and like attached to it.
• Take your data with you — ask and we will send you what we hold in a machine-readable file.
• Withdraw consent — you can also disconnect DIY Sounds from your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions. That stops future sign-ins but does not by itself delete what we already hold, so email us as well if that is what you want.

If you are in the UK, EEA, or a place with comparable law, our basis for processing is your consent for analytics, and the performance of our agreement with you for everything needed to run your account and show what you published. You have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

To exercise any of this, email glennmichaelmejias@gmail.com from the address on your account. We will respond within 30 days.

11. Children

DIY Sounds is not intended for children under 13, and you must be at least 13 to create an account. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

12. Security

The site is served over HTTPS. The session cookie is HttpOnly and restricted to this site. We never see or store your Google password. That said, no service is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted to or stored by us.

13. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If a change materially affects what we do with your information, we will say so on the site itself rather than relying on you to check.
